Are you an Alberta Journeyman Automotive Technician or a senior apprentice who feels stuck in the city grind? Are you tired of sacrificing your weekends and fighting with rusty, worn-out vehicles day in and day out?
It is time to do yourself a favour and look at what is happening just 29 minutes north of Edmonton. Matt from Redwater Dodge, home of the famous Rig Ready Rams, has officially put out the call. Because of skyrocketing sales and service volume, the shop is expanding immediately.
Check out the full video announcement from Matt:
Over the last 13 years, Redwater Dodge has grown from a small-town lot selling 10 to 20 vehicles a month to a high-volume powerhouse consistently moving 40 to 60 units monthly. Right now, we have over 120 vehicles in stock.
With only 6 or 7 technicians currently on the floor, we simply cannot keep up with the intense volume coming from our retail, new, used, and customer service sectors. We need qualified hands on deck, and we are willing to pay top dollar to get them.
ABSOLUTELY ZERO WEEKENDS: We completely shut down our fixed operations department on Saturdays and Sundays. When summer arrives, your time is your own. Enjoy your weekends with family and friends.
Premium Inventory & Custom Work: Who wants to spend their days doing dirty, heavy labour on old rust buckets? Because of our volume, you will be working on clean, factory-fresh units, installing custom lift kits, and adding premium accessories.
Unrivalled Shop Culture: Our General Manager is in the store every single day. He stays involved, leads regular team meetings, and ensures open communication across departments.
Real Corporate Perks: We offer local golf memberships, frequent staff barbeques, and legendary holiday parties (we skip the cheap shop pizza and take the entire team out to the city for a proper celebration).
We know that top-tier talent deserves top-tier rewards. As a high-volume Chrysler store, we "overallow" on our payroll, meaning we pay our technicians more money than your typical build. If you are FCA certified, you can expect an exceptional wage package. Furthermore, if you are looking to pad your pay cheque, overtime hours are readily available.
Are you currently living outside of the Edmonton area?
If you live more than an hour away from the city, we are offering substantial relocation incentives to assist you in making the move to our fantastic community. To top it all off, we are offering a signing bonus for the right candidate.
If you want a busy shop atmosphere, an incredible salary, great benefits, your weekends back, and a team that actually values your hard work, reach out today.

Looking to drop-in and apply in-person? Come see us in person in Redwater, Alberta, just 29 minutes north of Edmonton!
Q1: I don’t have FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) certification. Am I out of the running?
A1: Not at all! While having Chrysler or FCA training is certainly a fantastic bonus, it is not a strict requirement. We are looking for skilled, motivated Journeymen and senior 3rd or 4th-year apprentices who know their way around a shop. If you have a solid work ethic and strong diagnostic skills, we can handle the rest.
Q2: What does the "no weekends" policy actually look like in practice?
A2: It means exactly what Matt said: our fixed operations department is 100% closed on Saturdays and Sundays. There are no rotating weekend shifts or skeleton crews. We believe our team deserves a genuine work-life balance, giving you two full days off every week to spend with family, head out camping, or just enjoy the beautiful Alberta summers.
Q3: How do the relocation incentives and signing bonuses work?
A3: If you are currently living more than an hour away from Edmonton or are looking to move to Alberta from out of province, we offer aggressive relocation assistance packages to help cover the moving labour and logistics of getting to Redwater. Signing bonuses are structured on an individual basis depending on your current qualifications, certifications, and experience. We discuss these details openly and transparently during the interview process.
Q4: What is the day-to-day workload like? Am I going to be fighting rusty old beaters?
A4: That is one of the biggest benefits of working at a high-volume store like Redwater Dodge. Because we maintain an inventory of over 120 vehicles and move 40 to 60 units a month, a massive portion of your day-to-day work will be on clean, factory-fresh inventory. You will also get to work on a ton of custom lift kits, specialty wheels, and heavy accessory upfits for our signature Rig Ready Rams.
Q5: What is the compensation structure, and is there opportunity for overtime?
A5: Because we are a high-volume Chrysler dealership, we "overallow" on our builds. This means we pay our technicians more money than your typical flat-rate or book-time shop structure. If you want to keep your head down and pad your paycheque, the work is absolutely there for you, overtime is readily available for technicians who want to take advantage of it.
Q6: What other benefits and workplace perks can I expect?
A6: We pride ourselves on having a tight-knit, small-town atmosphere with big-city perks. Your employment package includes:
