The Hardisty Terminal is strategically located in the heart of the most important heavy crude oil storage hub in Canada, with approximately 14.0 million barrels of existing storage. As the largest independent storage facility at Hardisty, and with the best-in-class connectivity to inbound and outbound pipelines, the Hardisty Terminal offers the most flexibility to customers as they transport their products to end markets. We touch one in four barrels of crude oil produced in Western Canada.
Edmonton Operations: Gibson’s Edmonton Terminal is a 24 hour, 7 day operation with full shift operations and maintenance department employing more than 60 people locally with approximately 1.7 million barrels of storage, and an additional 1.3 million barrels coming online in 2024.
The Edmonton Terminal is fully connected to ‘pipeline alley’, one of the most significant energy transportation hubs in Canada. Fully connected to multiple inbound and outbound pipelines, this facility can also offer customers unparalleled flexibility in getting crude oil, liquids and refined product to market through connections to major rail lines and truck unloading and loading capabilities.
In addition to storage capacity, the Edmonton facility offers customers the most flexible offloading and loading infrastructure in the industry, along with receipt and delivery options, using a combination of truck, rail and pipe, to ensure product gets to market safely and reliably. The Edmonton rail facility connects to both CP and CN rail lines. Currently, the Edmonton Terminal has capacity for loading and offloading up to 120 railcars.
